Invisible Agency is seeking a Q'eqchi' (Mayan) Language Expert - AI Trainer for a remote, worldwide role. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of Q'eqchi' and experience in training AI models with language data.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ML engineers to curate, annotate, and quality-check Q'eqchi'-language data for AI training.
• Develop clear annotation guidelines, labeling schemes, and transcription standards.
• Create and maintain high-quality language datasets; monitor data quality and bias.
• Evaluate model outputs, provide linguistic insights, and iterate on data collection strategies.
• Document processes and support knowledge sharing across remote, distributed teams.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Q'eqchi' (Mayan) language (reading and writing); native or near-native fluency preferred.
• Experience with language data annotation, transcription, translation, or linguistic annotation tasks.
• Understanding of NLP concepts and data-driven model training workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work asynchronously in a remote environment.
• Experience with annotation tools and data governance is a plus.
