Role Overview

As a Q'eqchi' Language Expert and AI Trainer, you will curate, annotate, validate, and QA language data in Q'eqchi'. You will work with ML engineers and data scientists to ensure datasets are accurate, culturally appropriate, and ready for training language models. This is a remote position with global collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Annotate and validate Q'eqchi' language data for training/validation datasets
• Develop glossaries, translation memories, and linguistic guidelines
• Collaborate with ML engineers to assess data quality and model performance
• Perform data quality assurance, error analysis, and correction workflows
• Document processes and maintain data versioning and metadata
• Adhere to privacy, consent, and data governance policies

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Q'eqchi' (Mayan) language; strong dialect awareness
• Background in linguistics, translation, transcription, or language data annotation
• Experience with data labeling tools and linguistic annotation workflows
• Familiarity with NLP concepts and machine learning data needs is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working remotely
