Role:

The Senior DevOps Engineer, owning the reliability, performance, and cost optimization of Acquisition.com’s platforms. This individual will design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and automation to ensure our systems are secure, scalable, and efficient. With a lean, agent-driven development paradigm, you will accelerate delivery while safeguarding uptime, performance, and spend efficiency.

We are looking for someone who thrives on making systems faster, more reliable, and more cost-effective. You’ll partner with engineering and leadership to shape infrastructure that not only supports today’s needs but also anticipates tomorrow’s growth. With the right mix of automation, observability, and operational discipline, we will make lives easier for others.

Must live in one of the states we’re registered to operate in: AZ, CA, FL, GA, IN, MD, MI, MN, NV, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, WI.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and operate AWS-based infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Lead cost-optimization initiatives across infrastructure, storage, and compute services.

  • Build and maintain CI/CD systems to support rapid and reliable software delivery.

  • Implement observability practices — monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting — to ensure system health.

  • Drive performance tuning and capacity planning to proactively prevent bottlenecks.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes and platform reliability.

  • Champion infrastructure-as-code and automation practices for repeatability and efficiency.

  • Support disaster recovery planning, compliance, and incident response readiness.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or infrastructure roles.

  • Proven track record of optimizing infrastructure for both performance and cost.

  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless platforms.

  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (SST, Terraform, or CDK).

  • Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.).

  • Familiarity with programming in TypeScript, Python, or Go for automation and integrations.

  • Experience with agent-driven development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.

Results:

  • Deliver highly reliable systems with measurable improvements in uptime and performance.

  • Reduce infrastructure costs through proactive optimization and automated controls.

  • Improve developer velocity with faster, more consistent CI/CD pipelines.

  • Enable visibility and confidence in platform health through comprehensive observability.

  • Ensure systems are resilient, compliant, and capable of scaling efficiently with the business.

  • Champion practices that deliver short-term efficiency gains and long-term platform stability.

Schedule:

  • Work hours aligned with local timezone or Pacific timezone 8a-5p M-F

  • Flexible to travel to Vegas roughly 4-6 times per year

  • Must be flexible and able to work additional hours/weekends before workshop events/holidays if the situation warrants it

Location:

  • Remote, USA

  • Must live in one of the states we’re registered to operate in: AZ, CA, FL, GA, IN, MD, MI, MN, NV, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, WI.

Compensation:

  • $171,000 - $209,000 base salary

  • The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below).
