AccuWeather Careers is seeking a Storm Warning Meteorologist to monitor atmospheric conditions, forecast severe weather events, and provide timely warnings to clients and the public. This role requires strong meteorological knowledge, data analysis, and the ability to communicate complex weather information clearly under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Monitor real-time weather data, radar, satellite, and numerical forecast models
Interpret model outputs and issue timely storm warnings and advisories
Prepare briefings for media, government agencies, and clients
Collaborate with meteorology teams to improve forecast accuracy
Maintain high standards of accuracy and clarity in communications

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong understanding of atmospheric physics, forecast methods, and severe weather
Experience with weather data sources and forecast tools
Proficiency in data analysis with Python and/or R; familiarity with GIS is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Preferred

Experience with weather warning operations and emergency management
