Abuse Investigator (CBRN)

📋 Description

• Detect, investigate, and disrupt misuse of OpenAI products for biological threats.
• Collaborate with Policy, Legal, Integrity, Global Affairs, and Security on investigations.
• Develop abuse signals and detection for dual-use or biohazard misuse.
• Communicate findings to internal leadership and external partners when required.
• Build a categorical understanding of biosecurity product surfaces and improve tooling.
• Requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

🎯 Requirements

• Biosecurity, DURC, or biodefense experience.
• Strong SQL and Python investigative skills.
• Experience in risk-mitigation and adversarial thinking.
• Investigations related to bio threat actors or dual-use exploitation.
• 5+ years tracking misuse in biosecurity or life sciences.
• 2+ years developing detection solutions and open-ended research.
• Experience presenting analytical work in public or policy settings.
• Experience scaling and automating processes, especially with language models.
