South Mesa Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant / Technician to join our team in Fort Collins, Colorado. The role supports veterinarians with patient care, animal handling, basic clinical tasks, and client communication. The ideal candidate is compassionate, reliable, and able to work well in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams and procedures
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment for visits
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed
• Collect basic samples and maintain medical records
• Communicate effectively with pet owners and team members

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Interest in animal care and welfare
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Previous clinic experience is helpful but not required
