Groomer

Surfside Animal Hospital in Oceanside, CA is seeking a dedicated Groomer to join our general practice team. The Groomer will provide professional grooming services for dogs and cats, ensuring compassionate care and client satisfaction. This on-site position offers an opportunity to work closely with veterinarians and support staff to support patient well-being and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services for dogs and cats (bathing, brushing, trimming, nail care, ear cleaning) according to breed standards and client preferences.
• Handle animals safely and calmly, recognizing signs of stress and adapting grooming techniques accordingly.
• Maintain grooming equipment and a clean, organized grooming area; follow sanitation and safety protocols.
• Communicate clearly with clients about grooming needs, aftercare, and recommended maintenance.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to support overall patient care and clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional pet grooming; ability to handle a variety of breeds and temperaments.
• Knowledge of coat types, trimming techniques, and breed standards.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift reasonable weights.
• Valid grooming license or certification preferred; on-the-job training available.
