Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Restrain and handle patients safely and compassionately
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and recovery, including during anesthesia under supervision
• Prepare and administer medications as directed; maintain accurate medical records
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms, kennels, and surgical prep areas
• Collect samples for basic laboratory tests and process results
• Assist with radiographs, equipment setup, and routine lab workflows
• Provide excellent client communication and educate clients on at-home care and post-visit instructions
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; veterinary assistant certification is a plus
• Prior experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift and assist with restrained patients; capable of standing for extended periods
• Compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Basic understanding of veterinary terminology
