About the role at 2U
We are seeking a Sr. Workday Admin HCM to join 2U's HRIS/Workday team in Cape Town. You will own the end-to-end administration of Workday HCM, ensure data integrity, security, and optimal system configuration to support workforce planning and HR processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead configuration, optimization, and maintenance of Workday HCM modules (Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, and Payroll where applicable).
- Manage security roles and access control to ensure appropriate data governance.
- Design, test, and deploy Workday business processes and reports; ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Lead Workday integrations with external systems (payroll providers, benefits systems, recruiting tools) and Workday Studio-based interfaces.
- Partner with HR, payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Monitor upgrades, patches, and release readiness; coordinate testing and change management.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and user guides; provide training to teams as needed.
- Support payroll validation and data integrity across the HR ecosystem.
- Participate in HRIS governance and project delivery for Workday-related initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience administering Workday HCM or equivalent HRIS, with deep expertise in configuration, security, reporting, and business processes.
- Hands-on experience with Workday integrations (preferably Workday Studio) and data migration concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills; excellent communication in English.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; willingness to work on-site in Cape Town, South Africa.
- Workday HCM certification is a plus; bachelor's degree in HRIS, IT, or a related field.
