Overview
2U is a leading online program provider partnering with top universities to deliver accessible, high-quality online education. As the Product Manager, Data Technology, you will own the strategy and delivery of the data platform that powers insights for product, marketing, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product roadmap for the data technology platform.
- Gather and prioritize requirements from data scientists, analysts, engineers, and business partners.
- Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics; translate business problems into data-driven solutions.
- Prioritize and manage the backlog; coordinate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Platform teams to ship reliable data pipelines and data models.
- Ensure data quality, governance, security, and privacy considerations are embedded in product design.
- Measure impact using defined KPIs; iterate based on feedback and changing business needs.
- Communicate product vision and progress to executives and stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, preferably with data platforms or data infrastructure products.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance.
- Experience collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and analysts; ability to balance technical and business priorities.
- Proficiency in SQL; familiarity with modern data stacks and data tooling (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field; advanced degree is a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience in education technology or subscription-based business models.
- Knowledge of Python or Spark is a plus.
