  What We Need:

The NBA 2K TechArt team is a diverse group of Technical Artists that perform a wide variety of tasks. We write and maintain tools for the art department, rig the characters, props, and clothing, and do a lot of problem solving.

Our Novato studio is looking for a highly motivated student or graduate who would love an opportunity to learn from expert Technical Artists and improve their rigging and programming skills.

  What You Will Do:
  • Assist in rigging and maintaining clothing, and prop assets
  • Setup dynamic systems for real-time game assets
  • Build and test artwork in the game engine
  • Work closely with the character, animation, and/or environment art teams.
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Learn and grow with some of the top talent in the industry
  • Attend regular team meetings
  Who Will Be A Great Fit:
  • Student or recent graduate
  • Love for taking on challenging technical assignments
  • Passionate about creating great quality art
  • Ability to shift priorities
  • Comfortable with working in Maya or willingness to learn
  • Basic rigging skills
  • Can demonstrate skinning of organic models (clothing, characters etc,)
  • Understanding of scripting or programming experience, preferably using Python
  • Love for video games (not just ours!)

 

 

 

The pay for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be $20.00 per hour. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
