2K is seeking a Staff Applied Scientist - Economy to design and analyze in-game economies, pricing models, and monetization strategies. You will build econometric and machine learning models, run large-scale experiments, and partner with product, data, and engineering teams to optimize player engagement and revenue. Location: Novato, California (onsite, USA)
Responsibilities
- Design and implement econometric and ML models to simulate and optimize game economies
- Lead large-scale experiments (A/B tests) and analyze impact on player behavior and revenue
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering teams to define metrics and drive data-informed decisions
- Communicate insights to stakeholders and mentor junior teammates
- Build robust data pipelines and tooling to support ongoing economic analysis
Qualifications
- Strong background in statistics, econometrics, ML, or a quantitative field
- Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas) and SQL; experience with data visualization
- Experience with A/B testing and experimental design
- Familiarity with game economy concepts is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
