This is a hands-on role requiring artistic vision, technical skill, and strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Develop efficient, reusable VFX pipelines, documentation, and best practices for the team.
  • Optimize performance to meet frame-rate targets across multiple platforms.
  • Contribute to art direction, style, and consistency across titles; mentor junior artists.
  • Review asset pipelines and ensure compatibility with production workflows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional game VFX experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating real-time VFX work.
  • Proficiency with industry tools such as Houdini, Maya, and real-time shader work.
  • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine and/or Unity; strong understanding of real-time rendering, PBR, and optimization.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work across disciplines and deliver on tight timelines.
  • Knowledge of scripting or shading languages (e.g., Python, MEL, HLSL/GLSL) is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GPU particle simulations, Niagara, VFX graphs, or similar modern VFX toolchains.
  • Familiarity with Houdini Engine or other procedural content creation workflows.
  • Understanding of asset pipelines and version control (Perforce, Git).
