2K is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join our team in Europe. In this role you will drive the art production pipeline, shading, rigging and asset integration for AAA games. You will collaborate with artists and engineers to implement robust workflows, build tools, optimize performance, and ensure assets are production-ready across multiple titles. This on-site position is based in Dublin, Ireland or Valencia, Spain, and requires strong technical artistry, problem-solving, and a passion for high-quality visuals.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain art pipelines for asset creation, shading, rigging, and integration into game engines.
Develop tools and scripts (primarily Python) to automate repetitive tasks and improve artist productivity.
Collaborate with artists and engineers to implement high-quality visuals that meet technical constraints.
Optimize assets for performance, memory usage, and rendering quality.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior artists.

Requirements

5+ years in a professional game development environment as a Technical Artist or equivalent.
Strong experience with Maya (or 3ds Max), Unreal Engine (or Unity), and a modern asset pipeline.
Proficiency in Python or C++ for tooling and automation.
Experience with shading, PBR materials, rigging, and shader authoring.
Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills, with a proactive attitude.
