Senior Systems Designer
2K is seeking a Senior Systems Designer to join our team in San Mateo, California. In this role you will design and refine core game systems, balancing progression, economy, and player behavior to deliver compelling gameplay experiences. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, producers, and QA to implement systems that scale with live operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and iterate on core game systems and rules
- Prototype features and balance values using data
- Create clear design documents and spec workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement gameplay systems
- Monitor live ops data and iterate to improve player experience
Requirements
- 5+ years in game design, systems design, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with scripting and rapid prototyping
- Ability to translate concepts into concrete specs
- Excellent collaboration and communication
Nice to Have
- Experience with live ops and telemetry-driven design
- Knowledge of major game engines (Unity or Unreal)
