Senior Gameplay Engineer

Overview

2K is seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer to design and implement high-quality gameplay features for our titles. In this role, you will collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers to create engaging player experiences, optimize performance, and contribute to core gameplay systems. You will mentor less experienced engineers, help set coding standards, and drive technical decisions that affect gameplay.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain gameplay systems in C++ within our engine.
• Collaborate with design, art, and audio to ship features on schedule.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and frame rate; profile and diagnose issues.
• Mentor junior developers, perform code reviews, and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Build tools and pipelines to improve efficiency and enable rapid iteration.
• Investigate, triage, and fix bugs; ensure quality and stability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional gameplay programming experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++.
• Experience with a modern game engine and gameplay programming.
• Familiarity with AI, physics, animation, networking, and tooling.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unreal Engine or similar engines.
• Shipping titles on PC or consoles.
