2K is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the NBA 2K team in a remote-friendly capacity. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power live game features and digital experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust backend services and APIs
- Architect scalable data pipelines and storage solutions
- Collaborate with game developers, data engineers, and platform teams
- Mentor engineers and contribute to system design decisions
- Ensure security, reliability, observability, and performance
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment pipelines
Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend software development experience
- Proficiency with one or more backend languages (Java, C#, Python, Node.js)
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices
- SQL and NoSQL databases, caching, messaging systems
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
