Principal Data Architect (Hands-On)

Job Summary

2K is seeking a Principal Data Architect (Hands-On) to lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures across data platforms, pipelines, governance, and analytics to support game development and business insights. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to guide cross-functional data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture, data models, data warehouses, and data governance programs.
• Build and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and ensure data quality, lineage, and security.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, product teams, and analytics stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
• Define standards, patterns, and governance frameworks for data access, security, and compliance.
• Mentor and lead data engineers and analysts; evaluate new technologies and approaches.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills with hands-on experience.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with data warehouses and data lakes (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Scala, Java) and data processing frameworks (Spark, Hadoop).
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, security, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Education: Education optional; Bachelor’s or equivalent experience preferred.
