Overview
2K is seeking a Manager, Technical Operations Center to lead the day-to-day operations of the Technical Operations Center. You will ensure reliable game services, coordinate incident response, manage on-call schedules, monitor systems, and drive continuous improvement through automation and process enhancements. This is a hands-on leadership role at a premier game studio.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach a team of TOC engineers and responders.
- Oversee incident response during outages and major incidents, ensuring timely detection, escalation, and remediation.
- Develop and maintain runbooks, on-call schedules, and incident playbooks.
- Monitor game services and infrastructure; own capacity planning, change management, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, security, and customer support to minimize downtime and maximize service reliability.
- Define and track KPIs (MTTD/MTTR, availability, error budgets) and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage vendor relationships and TOC tooling/budget considerations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical operations, IT operations, or TOC/incident management; leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring/observability tools and incident management processes.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) and automation.
- Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and people management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Passion for gaming or high-availability services is a plus.
