Localization Language Lead - Italian

Overview

2K is seeking a Localization Language Lead for Italian to own the Italian localization strategy for our games. You will work with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, localized player experiences in Italy and Italian‑speaking markets.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the Italian localization strategy, including tone, style guides, and glossary management.
• Plan and manage localization projects from planning to release, including resource estimation and timelines.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, QA, Live Operations, and Community teams to ensure accurate and timely localization across in‑game text, marketing assets, and support content.
• Source, manage, and evaluate external localization partners and vendors; negotiate terms and monitor performance.
• Maintain translation memories and glossaries to ensure consistency and brand voice across all Italian content.
• Review and QA in‑game text, UI text, and marketing copy for Italian, ensuring UI constraints and cultural relevance.
• Coordinate with live operations for updates, patches, and seasonal content.
• Track localization KPIs, quality metrics, risks, and provide regular status reports to leadership.
• Mentor and guide junior localization staff as needed.

Requirements

• Native-level or highly proficient Italian with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Proven experience in localization of video games or software products; strong project management and vendor management abilities.
• Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) and standard localization workflows.
• Knowledge of internationalization concepts and game development pipelines (Unity/Unreal) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Based in Madrid, Spain or able to work on‑site in Madrid; willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in English and Italian.

• Experience with agile development or Scrum processes.
• Deep interest in video games and a passion for high‑quality localization.
