Gameplay Animator

Job Summary

We are seeking a Gameplay Animator at 2K to craft high-quality, responsive animations for our games. In this role you will collaborate with designers, artists and engineers to bring characters and actions to life, while helping shape animation pipelines and best practices across the project.

Responsibilities

• Create and polish in-game character animations including locomotion, combat, interaction and cinematics.
• Integrate animations into the game engine (Unreal Engine and/or Unity) and work with animation tools like Maya or Blender.
• Retarget, clean up and refine motion capture data as needed.
• Collaborate with design, art, and engineering teams to balance performance and visual quality.
• Help define animation specs, rigging requirements and pipeline tooling.
• Optimize animation assets for smooth performance across platforms.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional game animation experience or equivalent.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality gameplay animation.
• Proficiency with 3D animation software (Maya, Blender) and experience with skinning/rigging.
• Familiarity with game engines (Unreal Engine and/or Unity).
• Understanding of timing, spacing, weight and expressive character motion.
