Game Analyst - NBA 2K

Our Novato, CA headquarters is seeking to add a full-time Game Analyst to work directly with the NBA 2K development team on the latest iteration of the NBA 2K franchise. Help us bring the game over the finish line and then continue as a meaningful part of the process throughout the life cycle of the product, with regular opportunities for feedback, insight, and tuning/balancing.

• Offer regular feedback and suggestions on difficulty, fun factor, design, and general playability
• Regular testing of various features and mechanics throughout the game
• Identify defects and playability issues and report them in a clear and concise manner
• Follow, maintain, and create test plans to guide in coverage and planning
• Reproduce issues and test fixes for engineers and producers
• Work closely with the development team to help bring the game to the next level
• Learn, grow, and evolve with the other members of the team as we strive to make a fun and unique NBA 2K experience each year

• Technically proficient with PCs and gaming consoles
• Computer literacy, specifically MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and database software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail, with an ability to prioritize and schedule demands in an often-fluid environment
• Able to take initiative and be proactive rather than reactive, as well as think and adjust quickly on a regular basis
• Not afraid to speak your mind and willing to share your opinions and ideas, including backing them up as needed
• An NBA fan who is familiar with the sport, the players, and the history
• Passionate about video games (not just ours!), and familiar with the NBA 2K series and how it has evolved over the years
• Previous game development or testing experience a plus, but not required
• Someone looking to move forward in the game industry as a designer, producer, engineer, or artist

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $60,000 and $84,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
