We are seeking a Director of Game Science & Insights in the Sports division to drive data‑driven decision making across live operations, product development, and monetization.
Role Overview
The Director of Game Science & Insights will lead a team of data scientists and analysts, defining the analytics strategy for sports titles and translating data into actionable insights. This role collaborates closely with Product, Live Ops, Marketing, and Design to inform feature decisions, optimize player experience, and maximize engagement and revenue.
Responsibilities
- Build, mentor, and manage a high‑performing team of game data scientists and analysts.
- Define and execute the analytics strategy for sports titles, including player behavior, engagement, retention, monetization, and live operations.
- Partner with Product, Live Ops, Marketing, and Design to design, run, and analyze experiments (A/B tests) to drive product decisions.
- Develop advanced models (predictive analytics, clustering, causal inference) to understand player segments and in‑game economics.
- Own dashboards and reporting for executives and cross‑functional teams; ensure insights are actionable and accessible.
- Champion a data‑driven culture, recruit talent, and foster collaboration across disciplines.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in game analytics, data science, or related fields; leadership experience required.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with R is a plus.
- Solid statistics and machine learning background (experiments, causal inference, predictive modeling).
- Experience with big data tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Tableau/Power BI).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in sports games or live operations is advantageous.
