Director, Engineering - SDS Tech

As the Director of Engineering for SDS Tech, you will partner with product, design, and leadership to define long-term technical strategy, set roadmaps, and foster a culture of excellence. You will coach and grow managers and engineers, hire top talent, and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable software systems while delivering with speed and quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for the SDS Tech organization, aligning engineering efforts with business goals.
• Own system architecture, platform reliability, performance, and maintainability across multiple teams.
• Drive software development lifecycle, establish roadmaps, staffing plans, and delivery milestones.
• Mentor managers and engineers, foster a culture of collaboration, code quality, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with product, design, and program management to define success metrics and track progress.
• Represent engineering in leadership forums and communicate strategy to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams at scale with a track record of delivering complex software solutions.
• Strong architecture and design skills across distributed systems and cloud environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
• Experience in game development or related tech is a plus (SDS Tech exposure preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree a plus.

About the role

Location: Moorpark, CA. On-site role. You will report to the VP of Engineering and lead multiple engineering teams responsible for SDS Tech initiatives. Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
