Role overview
2K is seeking a Creative Director, Sports for our Los Angeles studio to lead the creative direction of our sports franchises. You will shape the visual style, narrative tone, and brand experience across in-game experiences, marketing materials, and related media. Collaborate with product, design, engineering, production and marketing teams to deliver bold, cohesive experiences that resonate with players worldwide. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision, executive leadership, and hands-on creative craft to elevate 2K's sports IP.
Responsibilities
- Set and evangelize the creative vision for all sports titles, ensuring consistency across gameplay, art direction, narrative and marketing.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of designers, art directors, animators, and production staff; manage internal teams and external partners.
- Partner with product, live ops, marketing, and production to plan roadmaps, milestones, and asset pipelines.
- Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and art direction guidelines to ensure high-quality, on-brand experiences.
- Oversee asset creation across concept art, 3D art, UI/UX, cinematics, and marketing assets.
- Drive iteration through playtests, feedback, and data to optimize player engagement and satisfaction while managing budgets and schedules.
Requirements
- Proven track record as a Creative Director or senior leader in video games, preferably with shipped sports titles.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Deep knowledge of sports game aesthetics, brand building, art direction, and production pipelines.
- Experience managing large art teams and external partners; ability to balance artistic vision with production realities.
- Bachelor's degree in art, design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
