Overview

Responsibilities

• Design and balance gameplay systems, core loops, progression, and player mechanics.
• Create design docs, wireframes, and gameplay proposals; maintain design spreadsheets.
• Prototype ideas, iterate based on playtests and metrics, and implement features with engineers and artists.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feature quality and consistency with the game's vision.
• Mentor junior designers and share best practices to grow the design team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in game design or equivalent; shipped titles; strong portfolio.
• Strong understanding of game design theory, player psychology, and balancing.
• Proficiency with design tools and engines; familiarity with scripting or middleware is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to lead design discussions.
